Yeh, Dan...like most of us with classy female companions, you are "over-chicked." Dee was delightful, and obviously a "trooper" because she wore that Daytona Blue wig throughout the heat of the day on Saturday.
Congratulations on your car show trophy. _________________ Ken Frakes

After the comments on Dee's hair I guess I need to post photos.
Just some random thoughts from last week:
*On more than one occasion as Dee and I passed through tiny hamlets on our day trips, we would see a restaurant boasting of having the "best Mexican food in town". Best Mexican food in town? In comparison to what? You're the ONLY restaurant in town!!!
*On the way home we stopped in Ozark for gas. It was 20-30 cents cheaper than Branson!
*When stopping for gas at Ozark we attempted to stop at Quik Trip. The turn lane into QT had about 6 cars backed up plus, as I looked into the station, I could see that all the pumps were full plus there were cars lined up. Maybe 100 yards away was a Phillips station with identical pricing yet it sat empty. We wondered if it was even open. Dee and I popped in, "got our load on" and were back on the road while I suspect some people were still in line at QT.
*When we hit Springfield we passed on taking Hwy 13 and instead went to the next exit and took 160 north. After a while we hit MO 215 which took us through Stockton State Park and over Stockton Lake. Some of the hills are comparable to what you'd find on a roller coaster. At Stockton we hit county road J up to hit US 54. What a sweet road J is. Nice scenery, curves, etc. A perfect way to unwind from Branson.
*From US 54 we hit Collins where Peg's Diner is located. This spot has, over the years, been a "must stop" for travelers on MO 13. We hit there right at noon and they were not all that busy. We had only pie and coffee. They were out of several pies so I had to settle for second chose. Both Dee and I didn't think the pie was as good as we remembered. Peg's is now off our "must stop" list. _________________ "Why, yes, I DO drive a Roadster. Why do you ask?"
